Bob Kuehn passed away in June, 2006.

Robert H. Kuehn, Jr., president of KDC, had been active in the New England real estate industry for more than 35 years. Bob was educated as an architect and urban planner with degrees from Yale University and postgraduate study as a Fulbright Scholar. Given this background, he took particular pride in the design/build details of his developments.

Bob had also served in a number of civic capacities, including Citizens Housing and Planning Association (President), Preservation Massachusetts (Executive Board and former President), and the Advisory Committee of the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency (former Chair). He was a member of the Board of the Boston Architectural Center and serves on the Advisory Board of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He was also Vice Chair of the Island Affordable Housing Fund.

In memory of Bob

Janet Powers Hegarty has been with Keen Development Corporation since April 1989. She is the administrative assistant to Robert H. Kuehn, Jr., as well as the Office Manager.

In her earlier years she worked as a legal secretary and as a sales representative for a number of gift companies. Janet grew up in Cambridge and now lives in Arlington. She is the mother of five grown children and ten grandchildren.

Janet is also an appointed Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Lan Benarieb has been the Controller for Keen Development for four years. She has seven years of experience in full cycle accounting. Lan maintains general ledgers for all of Keen Development properties under development and manages accounting functions on a day-to-day basis. Her responsibilities include preparing, monitoring, and maintaining computerized accounts receivables and payables, corporate payroll, employee reimbursements, reconciling multiple checking accounts, and analyzing prepaid expenses, deferred revenues, and various incomes and expenses. Lan also prepares information for and works with auditors of the Keen Development properties. Lan also assists the company CFO, Jeffrey Young, in performing financial analysis and forecasts for management.
